Wisconsin auto-pedestrian accidents: Woman hurt after hit-and-run

As Wisconsin residents are well aware, it is not uncommon to see pedestrians out and about along the roadways. Because of this, it is absolutely crucial that vehicle drivers pay attention and are aware of pedestrians when present. Negligent or distracted drivers may not see pedestrians, which often results in auto-pedestrian accidents. These collisions can result in serious injuries or fatalities, so practicing appropriate safety measures is crucial for both pedestrians and drivers.

New MRI scan could help diagnose traumatic brain injuries

Suffering injuries in a car accident can be a traumatic event, but when those injuries cannot be seen by the naked eye, such as those suffered to the brain and head, it can make things that much worse. While CT and normal MRI scans can offer doctors a look into the human body, they often times do not show the extent of damage received, which can lead to questions of long-term effects.

Lawmakers push for harder bans on cellphone use while driving

Senator Jerry Petrowski is trying to make the roadways just a little bit safer in the upcoming year with his proposal for a new bill that would bar drivers from using their cellphones while driving through construction zones where workers are present. The plan of the new bill, which was proposed recently and is seeking other co-sponsors, is to not only make conditions safer for construction workers but reduce the number of distracted driving accidents in Wisconsin.

Pedestrian accident in Illinois means charges for Wisconsin man

Readers of our blog are probably some of the few who know just how quickly a life can be taken away because of someone else’s negligence. This is especially true in pedestrian accidents because these victims do not have the protection of another vehicle to prevent serious injuries or death.

New crosswalks in Winnebago County may curb pedestrian accidents

In every city across the state of Wisconsin there are always those busy streets that scream danger and are responsible for a majority of the serious accidents within city limits. For the town of Neenah in Winnebago County, those streets are Commercial Street and Wisconsin Avenue where a number of pedestrians say they have encountered a number of close calls because of the high volume of traffic and inadequate crossing zones in the area.

Madison woman killed after stepping out of car on Highway 30

While sun glare may have been a factor in a fatal accident that claimed the life of a 58-year-old Madison woman, it may not be enough to stop Wisconsin police from pressing charges of negligence against the driver responsible for hitting her. Now, as the investigation continues, people in the community and the victim's family are likely wondering what will happen after the investigation is completed.

Pedestrian injured in Madison after being struck by traffic

Pedestrian accidents in Wisconsin can be some of the most frightening for both the injured victim and even the driver who hit them. As we've mentioned in past posts, these types of accident generally result in catastrophic injuries because pedestrians are not protected by the enclosure of another vehicle when they are struck. Everything from cuts and bruises to serious internal injuries can occur, leaving the victim in serious condition and the driver of the car wondering what consequences they could be facing.

Redgranite man struck by SUV while operating lawn mower in street

Far to our east in Redgranite a community is grieving this month for the loss of an 81-year-old local man who lost his life just days ago in a tragic accident involving another vehicle. Police say that the man appears to have been abiding by all traffic laws just prior to the accident-a fact that unfortunately did not prevent him from being involved in the fatal crash.
The man had just left his home and was on his way to a family member's house to cut their grass. The man was driving his riding lawn mower in the shoulder, making the 10-block trip to the family member's house, when he slowly began drifting to his left into traffic. It's at this point that he was hit by an SUV driven by a 56-year-old Milwaukee man.

Wisconsin man charged with homicide in auto-pedestrian accident

The family of a woman severely injured in an hit-and-run accident recently laid her unborn child to rest in a Wisconsin cemetary this month, nearly losing the mother as well.  While charges have been filed against the man responsible for the wrongful death of the child, it's not clear whether the family will seek civil action  once a conviction has been made.

Sun Prairie woman killed by intoxicated clergyman

A community in central Wisconsin is still reeling after the death of a 52-year-old woman whose life was cut short when she was hit by a drunk driver while out for a jog. Though the investigation is still ongoing, police have released the name of the man responsible for her death, and it's a name many residents were shocked to hear.
