Fatal Motor Vehicle Accidents Archives

Wisconsin reports fewer traffic accident deaths

As summer activities begin to wind down and kids prepare to head back to school, it is a good time to reflect on certain things that transpired this summer such as the number of fatal motor vehicle accidents in the state of Wisconsin. So far, the news is good.

Multi-vehicle crash in Somerset, Wisconsin kills 2

While few people want to think about it in an instant, a car crash can change one's life. It may even end it. Several people involved in a fatal automobile accident earlier this week experienced this first hand. The three-vehicle collision, which occurred in Western Wisconsin, claimed the life of two people.

Wisconsin crash claims the life of woman

Anyone who gets behind the wheel of a motor vehicle to drive could find that he or she is involved in an accident. While this is true, it is generally accepted there are certain demographics that are more likely to be involved in these types of incidents. Licensed drivers on either end of the spectrum--teens and the elderly--are included in these groups.

Several months ago we wrote about a wrongful death lawsuit that the families of two Wisconsin teens who were killed in a car accident filed against several defendants. In it, they allege that crash and deaths were the result of problems with the car in which they were travelling. The car accident occurred after the driver lost control of the vehicle when it stalled. The loss of control cased the car to run into trees after leaving the road.

With summer around the corner road safety encouraged

Car accidents occur on roads throughout the nation at all times of the year. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, drivers need to be particularly vigilant in the next three months or so, as this week marks the start of what the administration calls the 100 deadliest days of the year for drivers.

Holiday weekend expected to lead to more than 380 traffic deaths

While it is true that motor vehicle accidents regularly occur on roads throughout the nation, there are certain times of the year when these tend to increase. One of those times—Memorial Day weekend—is nearly upon us. Over the course of what is for many a long weekend, it is not uncommon for Wisconsin residents to take advantage of the extra day and drive to see friends and family.

Pregnancy could raise risk of car accident occurring

There are many things that women who are expecting a baby must think about. Eating the correct foods and getting enough sleep and exercise is only a small part of that equation. A recent study indicated pregnant women in Western Wisconsin, and beyond, need to be more mindful while driving as well. This is particularly true during the second trimester.

Man dies after car crosses into path of truck

After a motor vehicle accident occurs on a Wisconsin road the first course of action is to provide medical attention to anyone who has been hurt in the incident. Following that law enforcement usually gets to work determining how the crash unfolded. In some cases eyewitnesses are able to provide this information. Other times however authorities must turn to accident reconstruction experts. The Wisconsin State Patrol recently did this following a fatal car accident.

Wrongful death lawsuit filed against carmaker after recall

There are multiple reasons why a motor vehicle accident might occur. While often the behavior of a driver is to blame, other times the fault may lie in the vehicle itself. When an automobile is defective, it could lead to an accident occurring. As is the case with any motor vehicle accident it is possible that these could lead to death.
