For almost as long as there have been motor vehicles, hit and run accidents have been a problem. However, new statistics show that these fatal accidents are on the rise all over the United States.
The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department has been investigating the death of a Wisconsin woman in early March. Through the course of that investigation, it has come to the attention of investigators that the woman may have been hit not by one car, but by two. They are now looking for information on the vehicle involved in the second hit-and-run car accident involving this victim.
Police say that a 54-year-old Wisconsin woman was simply helping a friend on the side of the road when she was struck and killed by a passing motorist. Officers from the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department believe that she had been crossing the street when the accident occurred in the early morning hours, but say that there could have been another car that was involved in the accident as well.

For almost two months, police had no leads and no suspects and it seemed that the case would forever remain a mystery. A Wisconsin woman and her daughter were pushing their car after running out of gas when they were struck by another car. The driver of that car then fled the scene of the accident, leaving the woman and her daughter injured and helpless. The woman later died at the hospital as a result of the injuries she sustained in the car accident. Her daughter is recovering from her injuries.
