After a motor vehicle accident occurs on a Wisconsin road the first course of action is to provide medical attention to anyone who has been hurt in the incident. Following that law enforcement usually gets to work determining how the crash unfolded. In some cases eyewitnesses are able to provide this information. Other times however authorities must turn to accident reconstruction experts. The Wisconsin State Patrol recently did this following a fatal car accident.
The crash that prompted this course of action involved multiple vehicles. Reports indicate that a pickup truck crossed into oncoming traffic. When it did so it drove into the path of a Freightliner semi-truck. Following that initial collision the pickup then collided with another car. At some point one of the vehicles burst into flames.
The collisions resulted in serious injuries. The men behind the wheel of the car and semi-truck received medical treatment at the scene. It is unclear whether they then went to the hospital. The 32-year-old man driving the pickup actually suffered such devastating injuries that he died.
While authorities appear to have a fairly good idea about how the accident occurred, the accident reconstruction could shed more light on the crash. The information recovered could speak to whether any civil litigation regarding the incident takes place. When individuals involved in a serious crash such as this one recover compensation in a personal injury lawsuit, it can go a long way toward making the life of the injured easier. Because these cases are generally complicated most find it beneficial to work with a lawyer.
