Wisconsin car accident sends 2 to hospital

Police in Wisconsin are investigating an accident that occurred on U.S. Highway 10 on the afternoon of Oct. 25. Two people had to be taken to area hospitals as a result of the car accident. Three other people were, thankfully, uninjured.

The preliminary report suggests that one vehicle was heading east on the highway while the other was heading west. For some unknown reason, the eastbound vehicle veered into the oncoming traffic. When it did, the westbound vehicle was not able to avoid the collision that resulted. The eastbound vehicle finally came to rest in a ravine while the westbound vehicle ended up on the shoulder of the east side of the highway.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle was taken to a local hospital by ambulance with unknown injuries. The driver of the westbound vehicle had to be taken by ambulance to a waiting helicopter where he was flown to a hospital. The extent and nature of his injuries were not reported. There is also no word on the current condition of either driver.

The Wisconsin State Patrol has joined with local authorities to conduct the investigation into this accident. There is no word as of yet what caused the eastbound driver to end up in oncoming traffic. Whether any charges will be filed remains to be seen.

The westbound driver may file a personal injury claim against the other driver in connection with this car accident. Depending on his injuries, the length of his hospital stay and recovery and any subsequent treatment required, the victim will undoubtedly be burdened with a significant amount of medical bills, lost wages and pain and suffering. Litigating a successful claim may provide the family with monetary relief that could help defray the victim's damages.
