Police have hinted to the fact that a driver they believe to be responsible for the death of another driver may have been trying to get to work at the time of the crash. The driver was said to be headed west at the time of the car accident.

Fatal hit-and-run accident leaves police with no suspect

Sometimes, readers of our blog hear tragic stories about injuries and deaths in motor vehicle crashes that happen in nearby states. While these accidents may be happening to other people miles away from residents here in Wisconsin, the aftermath that victims and their families go through is relatively the same. And like residents here in Wisconsin, the people involved in these accidents may also want to seek compensation from the person who caused their injuries.

Wisconsin increase drunk-driving patrols through Labor Day

For a lot of people across the state of Wisconsin, this upcoming weekend signals the end of summer, which may lead some people to the decision about whether to drink and drive. For our blog readers, this is an easy enough decision because they know the risks associated with such a choice and may have seen firsthand what can happen to victims in drunk-driving accidents. Others may not be as observant though.

Wisconsin lawmakers may crack down on driving under the influence

It may or may not be public knowledge that Wisconsin has some of the most lenient drunk driving laws in the nation. Legislators are now trying to change that reputation by proposing three different bills that would toughen the penalties for driving under the influence. The hope is that tougher laws will cut down on the number of drunk drivers on the road--especially those drunk drivers who end up injuring or even killing people when they get behind the wheel.

Driving under the influence can lead to homicide charges

It's no secret that drinking and driving can have dire consequences. Drunk driving accidents take hundreds if not thousands of lives every year across the country and in Wisconsin. One man was recently arrested in connection with a fatal accident in which authorities believe he was driving under the influence at the time.

Fatal crashes on a decline but still a concern for most

Although the 2013 crash statistics for Wisconsin are still being compiled for the state, transportation experts have already found something surprising: the number of fatal accidents is on the decline. According to their findings so far, the country has not seen numbers this low since World War II, leaving some to wonder what this could mean for the future.

Foggy conditions lead to fatal car crash in St. Croix County

Witnesses watching a serious accident take place in front of their eyes on July 31 in St. Croix County likely didn’t know that they were also witnessing the seventh fatality to take place this year in the state of Wisconsin. Taking place at the intersection of County Highway G and County Highway T in Erin Prairie, this fatal crash is a reminder to others across the state of just how dangerous of a mix inclement weather and distracted driving can be.

Pedestrian injured in Madison after being struck by traffic

Pedestrian accidents in Wisconsin can be some of the most frightening for both the injured victim and even the driver who hit them. As we've mentioned in past posts, these types of accident generally result in catastrophic injuries because pedestrians are not protected by the enclosure of another vehicle when they are struck. Everything from cuts and bruises to serious internal injuries can occur, leaving the victim in serious condition and the driver of the car wondering what consequences they could be facing.

Wisconsin deputy's speed before car accident determined

One of the important factors in every crash investigation is how fast the parties were going just prior to the incident. The Wisconsin State Patrol has finally been able to determine that factor regarding a car accident involving a deputy and a 20-year-old driver. The young driver was killed as a result of the collision.
