Two charged in fatal Wisconsin hit-and-run

No one has to tell residents of Wisconsin, or in any other state, how jarring car accidents can be. Whether a simple fender bender or a fatal car crash, everyone involved is affected in some way.

But when the car accident involves a hit-and-run fatality, the stakes become even higher. Two Green Bay brothers know this all too well now, facing charges in connection with a hit and run nearly two months prior.

It started in July, when the 17-year-old brother allegedly got behind the wheel of a Pontiac Grand AM, while his girlfriend was seated in the passenger seat. According to reports, the couple began arguing as they drove through Green Bay. Suddenly, the car struck and killed a 52-year-old man. Witnesses claim to have seen the vehicle slow down, then speed up and drive away.

Allegedly, his 21-year-old brother then drove him to Milwaukee to catch a bus to Mexico. According to reports, he was adamant about his brother turning himself in to the police but that other family members had told him not to.

Finally culminating at the end of last month, the 17-year-old was arrested after returning to the states and charged with causing death due to a hit-and-run. A bond has been set at $100,000 and is being ordered to surrender his passport.

His brother was also arrested and is facing a misdemeanor charge for obstruction of justice. He has pled not-guilty and will stand trial in October. A bond has also been set for him at $5,000.
