Interstate 94 in St. Croix County near Hudson was recently the scene of a serious accident. According to members of the Wisconsin State patrol, the car accident took place midmorning on June 7 and involved three private vehicles and two semi-trucks. The initial cause of the series of collisions is not yet known.

A local news report indicated that two lanes of eastbound traffic were closed on I-94 so emergency responders could land a medical helicopter. Reportedly, there were serious injuries sustained during the crash, and one person had to be airlifted to a local hospital. The exact nature of that person’s injuries was not disclosed.

Interstate traffic may be flowing smoothly again, and the roadway likely shows little sign that an accident even occurred. But while the rest of the world keeps moving, somewhere near Hudson in St. Croix County there are a number of people suffering as a result of this series of crashes. Police may not have determined the official cause of the accident yet, but it is safe to say that the family members and loved ones of those victimized in the crash are seeking answers.

Investigations of multi-vehicle accidents can be extremely complicated, and determining fault for such crashes can take some skill. Typically, authorities conduct an accident reconstruction, but sometimes further analysis is necessary to ensure that negligent parties are held accountable. Wisconsin residents who have been victimized by car accidents at the hands of a negligent driver have the right to pursue compensation under our state’s personal injury laws.
