Teenage boy killed in Wisconsin rollover crash

A teenage boy was killed in a tragic rollover crash last Friday, just outside of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The incident happened during the evening hours after a 16-year-old girl lost control of her vehicle and veered off the roadway.

There were a total of three individuals in the car at the time of the crash: the 16-year-old female driver of the vehicle, a 15-year-old male passenger and a 16-year-old male passenger. It was the 16-year-old passenger who died. The driver and the other passenger suffered non-fatal injuries.

A local news agency reported that the car they were riding in was a Chevy Cobalt, which was traveling eastbound along Interstate 94. The driver of the car tried to overcorrect after losing control, which sent the vehicle tumbling into the median.

The deceased passenger was pronounced deceased at the accident site after emergency responders arrived. The other two individuals were transported to a hospital to receive treatment for their injuries. Authorities do not suspect that alcohol played a factor in the collision, and all individuals were wearing seat belts at the time of the incident.

Family members of the deceased car accident victims will always want answers as to how a particular crash may have occurred. In cases where a passenger died, questions of driver liability will generally surface. In these types of matters, family members may wish to look for signs of negligence. For example, was the driver speeding, was the driver using a smart phone or did the driver break any rules of the road leading up to the fatal collision?
