Keeping children safe around motor vehicles

Most parents would do anything they could to keep their children safe. While people may focus on preparing their home for a young child, cars can be dangerous for the youngsters as well, even when it is not being driven at a high speed. As it turns out, even when it is parked at home.

Age found to play a role in ER visits following crashes

Sometimes when a car accident occurs those involved survive the incident unscathed. Other times however, the injuries suffered will result in people having to go to the emergency room for treatment. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently looked into who was most likely to end up in the ER after a car crash.

Many driver actions contribute to pedestrian accidents

Walking to get from one place to another is an everyday part of life for most people in the state of Wisconsin. What few people likely think about is that under certain circumstances it can be dangerous. This is particularly true when motor vehicles are around. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Association, close to 5,000 pedestrians lose their lives in auto-pedestrian accidents each year. In 2012, around 76,000 were hurt in accidents such as these.

Toyota must pay $11M in personal injury lawsuit

We often mention that lawsuits could be a possibility following a  car accident. These lawsuits are filed against parties whose negligence is deemed to have played a role in the accident. Sometimes lawsuits are filed against drivers of other cars involved in the incident. Other times however they are filed against automobile makers for defects found in the vehicles. A case involving a fatal crash allegedly due to a vehicle defect was recently resolved in a neighboring state. While the crash did not occur in Wisconsin, the outcome of the case could have a bearing on others throughout the nation.
