More about Wisconsin's 'Driver Sober' app

As we wrote about in an article on our website, during the month of August law enforcement officers increased their efforts to keep impaired drivers off Wisconsin roads. As a part of the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign,” among other things, a free app called “Drive Sober,” was promoted. In this post we will provide more information about that downloadable mobile app.

There are multiple ways in which the app might help to reduce the number of drunk drivers navigating roads in western Wisconsin. For example, it provides a user with impairment goggles that enable a sober person to experience how it physically feels to have a high level of alcohol in one’s blood. It also contains a blood alcohol estimator. Users could also take advantage of the designated driver selector or contacts for transportation services available in the area where the person is.

Of course to be useful, an impaired driver has to be with it enough to operate the app. As anyone who has been around someone who has had too much to drink is aware, it is possible that many will forget that they even have the app available and get behind the wheel to drive.

Drunk drivers could end up causing accidents in Wisconsin roads. These accidents can affect others who are innocent of any wrong doing and result in serious injuries or even death. For those who happen to be in wrong place at the wrong time dealing with the aftermath of a drunk driving accident can be devastating. Depending on the circumstances it may make sense for those individuals to file a personal injury lawsuit against the drunk driver.
