Accident involving car and moped may have been intentional

While it is true that many motor vehicle accidents are the result of negligence, usually the ensuing crashes are not on purpose. This may not have been the case in an Eau Claire area crash that recently occurred. A 20-year-old man is facing criminal charges after being accused of purposely driving his car into a man on a moped. Following the collision the man driving the car allegedly fled the scene.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the man who was struck by the car as he rode his moped was hurt in the collision. Among his injuries is a broken wrist.

Following the arrest the driver of the car indicated that he had been following the other man in an attempt to learn where he lived. The reason for this is that the driver's girlfriend, who was with the driver at the time of the incident, allegedly cheated on the man with him.

Criminal charges may not be the only thing the 20-year-old driver faces. It is possible that the man on the moped might sue the other driver. A personal injury lawsuit such as this one can potentially result in financial compensation. Such compensation may be of assistance in covering expenses that accrue as a result of the injuries suffered.

While the first priority of the injured man is undoubtedly to heal as quickly as possible, he may also want to consult with a personal injury lawyer. These individuals are generally the best places to start when it comes to civil cases.
