Despite the fact that few spend much time thinking about it, motor vehicle accidents occur. There are many reasons that such an incident might occur, including impaired driving. Whether the impairment is due to alcohol or drugs, the end result can be devastating.

Vehicle type matters in teen driver safety

Readers are likely aware that there are many reasons that car accidents occur. Drunk driving, speeding and distracted driving are often factors in these incidents occurring. Depending on the specific circumstances surrounding each incident it is possible that serious injuries could be the end result. In an effort to minimize the injuries suffered in car accidents car makers continue to improve the design of the vehicles they produce, adding safety features as they become available. A study recently conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety suggests that these safety features are something parents shopping for vehicles for teen drivers should be cognizant of.

Multi-vehicle crash in Somerset, Wisconsin kills 2

While few people want to think about it in an instant, a car crash can change one's life. It may even end it. Several people involved in a fatal automobile accident earlier this week experienced this first hand. The three-vehicle collision, which occurred in Western Wisconsin, claimed the life of two people.

Wisconsin crash claims the life of woman

Anyone who gets behind the wheel of a motor vehicle to drive could find that he or she is involved in an accident. While this is true, it is generally accepted there are certain demographics that are more likely to be involved in these types of incidents. Licensed drivers on either end of the spectrum--teens and the elderly--are included in these groups.

Accident involving car and moped may have been intentional

While it is true that many motor vehicle accidents are the result of negligence, usually the ensuing crashes are not on purpose. This may not have been the case in an Eau Claire area crash that recently occurred. A 20-year-old man is facing criminal charges after being accused of purposely driving his car into a man on a moped. Following the collision the man driving the car allegedly fled the scene.

Mother not happy with results of criminal trial in fatal accident

A mother who is still mourning the loss of her daughter feels as though the family is being victimized a second time. Her daughter was taken from her in a fatal accident in Aug. 2012 here in Wisconsin. Now, the court has decided that the man responsible for the crash was not in his right mind at the time of the accident.

GM creates victim compensation fund

Several months ago we wrote about a wrongful death lawsuit that the families of two Wisconsin teens who were killed in a car accident filed against several defendants. In it, they allege that crash and deaths were the result of problems with the car in which they were travelling. The car accident occurred after the driver lost control of the vehicle when it stalled. The loss of control cased the car to run into trees after leaving the road.
