Wisconsin woman may have been victim of 2nd car accident

The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department has been investigating the death of a Wisconsin woman in early March. Through the course of that investigation, it has come to the attention of investigators that the woman may have been hit not by one car, but by two. They are now looking for information on the vehicle involved in the second hit-and-run car accident involving this victim.

The woman's body was found on Interstate 43 in the area of County Highway H and Racine Avenue. It appears that the woman's vehicle had broken down in New Berlin, and she had gotten out of her vehicle. At that point, she began walking across the highway and was run down by a car.

Evidence now points to the fact that her body was hit a second time after she was already lying in the road. Anyone that may have information regarding the second vehicle is asked to contact the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department. Emergency personnel attempted to save her life, but her injuries were too severe, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have given no indication as to what charges, if any, will be filed in connection with not only one hit-and-run car accident, but two. Meanwhile, the woman's family has been forced to prematurely bury her and wait for authorities to find the drivers deemed responsible for her death. At some point, the family may exercise their right under Wisconsin law to file a wrongful death claim against the party or parties considered culpable for her death. This won't bring her back, but it may give her family some sense of peace and justice on her behalf.
