The Wisconsin State Patrol was called to a recent rollover accident on County Highway CC in Sawyer County. Three people were seriously injured in the single car accident that happened near the township of Radisson. Police believe that speed was a factor in the crash.
The Wisconsin State Patrol reports that the crash occurred when the 48-year-old driver was passing another vehicle on the highway. After the vehicle passed the other vehicle, the driver lost control. His vehicle overturned and ended up in a ditch. All three of the vehicle's occupants suffered life threatening injuries.
A female passenger was thrown from the vehicle during the crash. She was transported to Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. The driver of the vehicle and another male passenger were both taken to St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. The current conditions of the driver and his two passengers are unknown.
Anytime someone is hurt in a car accident, they have the right to file a personal injury claim against the person deemed responsible for their injuries. If the victim is able to prove that the injuries sustained in the accident were caused by the negligence of another party, the court may award the victim monetary compensation for medical expenses, lost wages and any other damages allowed under our state laws that the court finds it is appropriate to award to the victim. Money won't heal injuries or make recovering from those injuries any easier, but a successfully prosecuted lawsuit may help make the financial impact of the accident easier to bear.
